In a city like Seoul, I found that the experience one has is incredibly different depending on whether one is alone or with friends.
When you are alone, you look around and see everyone paired up or in groups and you suddenly find yourself feeling lonely and isolated… even when you’re sitting in a crowded bus, subway, or coffee shop. There are noises all around you but, there you are, inside your mind wondering why you are the only one alone. On the other hand, the synergy created when you travel with friends goes through the roof and everyday you wonder if this was the best day you have ever had.
I love dichotomies.
